What we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

Please do not send sensitive health, medical, financial or highly personal information through website forms. If we need additional information for a specific activity, we will explain why at the time.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

Lawful bases

We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so. This may include consent, legitimate interests, contract or pre-contract steps, and legal obligations such as charity accounting and record keeping.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers where needed to operate the charity and website, including email, hosting, payment, event registration, analytics, form and anti-spam providers.

Some links or features may take you to external services, including PayPal, Free Yoga registration or profile services, social media platforms, the Fundraising Regulator validation page or embedded third-party tools. Those services operate their own privacy policies and terms.

Website analytics and campaign measurement

We may use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website and whether Google Ad Grants campaigns are helping people find relevant charity information. Optional analytics and marketing tags are designed to load only after you accept the relevant cookie choice.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, message text, medical details, wellbeing details, vulnerability details or children's details to Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 or Google Ads. Website events are limited to non-personal actions such as donation clicks, form success events and contact-link clicks.

You can reject optional cookies in the cookie banner. You can also reset your choice later using the Cookie settings button in the footer.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, including responding to enquiries, managing volunteering or partnerships, maintaining donation and charity records, and meeting legal or safeguarding obligations.

General enquiries are normally kept only while they are active and for a reasonable follow-up period. Donation and financial records may need to be kept for longer to meet accounting and charity law requirements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No website or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information unless it is necessary and requested.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis for processing.

To exercise your rights, contact info@theinnerpeace.org. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, activities or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page.
